A salon on Montgomery Highway has rebranded and is under new ownership.

Salon @ 31 has now become Halo Salon, according to Facebook posts form the business. Angel Waldrop is the salon’s new owner. Located at 1845 Montgomery Highway, Suite 219, it is a full-service salon offering custom coloring, smoothing treatments, brow shaping, cuts for women, men and children and a variety of hair treatments.

“We will be doing a whole makeover as time passes,” Waldrop said of the salon in a Facebook post.

It is open Mondays and Tuesdays and Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays along the heavily traveled corridor in Hoover.

Nearby businesses include Jambo Grill, Tandy Leather, Tobacco +++, Nail Line, Isabelle’s Thrifty Boutique, Vella Bella Furniture and others just down the road from the Riverchase Galleria.

The rebranding of the salon isn’t the only recent change in the area.

Falafel Cafe closed its location at 1837 Montgomery Highway in May, the BBJ previously reported. It was replaced by a Boston Fish Supreme location.

Additionally, live music venue and supper club Perfect Note closed its nearby location in June.

The Plaza at Riverchase, a nearly 200,000-square-foot shopping center that sits on 24 acres and is located at 1855 Montgomery Highway in Hoover, sold for $14.5 million in February. Folmar & Associates LLP sold the property to Hendon Urban Riverchase LLC. Built in 1989, the shopping center has 850 surface parking spaces and is made up of 35 units.
