There's no better pastime than testing out the coolest new skincare/makeup/hair trends and snazzy innovations in beauty tech from the comfort of your own home. That said, there's nothing more frustrating than spending upwards of £100 on a new at-home facial system or snazzy pair of hair straighteners, only to find out they don't *actually* work.
Enter: GLAMOUR Tries, the weekly Instagram series which sees GLAMOUR editors do all of the time-consuming (and expensive) work for you.
Yep, we've been busy trying out all of the wacky and wonderful beauty crazes to take the internet (read: TikTok) by storm – from the YSL lipstick printer to Il Makiage's iconic foundation and even the viral Hair Bedazzler tool from Amazon. These are the products every influencer/Gen-Z beauty sleuth/beauty editor is talking about on the internet – but that you want to be sure about before parting with your money.
Thanks to GLAMOUR Tries, you won't need to waste your hard-earned pennies on testing these innovations yourself. We're getting in there first, giving you the lowdown and ensuring you invest in products that genuinely work.
Spice up your out-out makeup.
By Denise Primbet
And this week, Commerce Writer Denise Primbet put the viral Trigwell Cosmetics Velvet Powder Puff to the test to see if it really lives up to the hype. It's all over TikTok with beauty influencers claiming it sets your under eye seamlessly when used with a powder, blurs out any fine lines and diminishes the appearance of puffy tear troughs. Magic, surely?
Denise begins by placing concealer on the high points of her face and blending it out with a sponge. She then dips the Twigwell Cosmetics Velvet Powder Puff into her loose setting powder, making sure to tap off the excess on the back of her hand before setting her under eye area.
She repeats this step for the rest of her face, setting all the areas that need it, before checking back in for the results.
If your concealer tends to crease throughout the day and you're looking for that airbrushed finish that'll last, this is the tool to try.
Would you give the Trigwell Cosmetics Velvet Powder Puff a go? Have you already tried it? Let us know your thoughts over on Instagram @glamouruk.
