An invitation-only style show celebrated the expansion and relocation of the Paul Labrecque Salon.

The inaugural bridal- and event-planning showcase took place Oct. 23 at the expanded spa and skincare salon's new location in the Royal Poinciana Plaza's Slat House.

Celebrity hair stylist Paul Labrecque and his team of beauty experts welcomed South Florida wedding and event planners, executives from on- and off-island hotels, florists, and prospective brides with champagne, hors d'oeuvres, and a fashion presentation that included trends for hair, makeup, nails, skincare and haute couture gowns from Karen Murray of Fivestory.

"We are absolutely elated to start this annual tradition in Palm Beach,” said salon general manager Collin Adams.

“Through staying current on trends, our brand partnerships, and our relationships with hotels and wedding planners we can quite literally take the guessing out of the equation for any bride to be.”

Labrecque doesn’t see Renaissance-retro soft waves going anywhere anytime soon and likes the “undone updo” for today's brides.

“The modern bride doesn’t want to be so stiff. I prefer to accentuate their best features while keeping them timeless" Labrecque said.

Makeup guru Marlena Orlowska loves a glowy full glam look but notes that the ‘Ballerina Look’ will be trending big this upcoming wedding season. “The ballerina look is for brides who want to exude a soft, romantic aesthetic for their wedding here in beautiful Palm Beach. Inspired by the delicate beauty of ballerinas, ballet core makeup is all about soft pastel tones and an airy finish.”

Londontown nail artist Beata Bilewicz says that traditional nude is over. Light pink or even a shear pearlescent lacquer is the rising star. “I really love the Londontown Polish ‘Invisible Crown.’ It's sophisticated but also flirty. The Shimmering Nail Highlighter in ‘Sunkissed’ is dreamy and perfectly Palm Beach.”

Biologique Recherche expert Brianna Krier discussed skincare trends. She recommended starting consistent treatments early to achieve flawless skin for The Big Day.

“Every treatment is customized specifically with your skin goals in mind. Lately I’ve been having really great results combining our Biosculpt Microcurrent Facial with Dermaplaning. Typically I advise our brides to come in weekly for a treatment and I also send them home with an active ingredient-based skincare regime.”

Murray's style selections included a classic Grecian Goddess cut that channeled Grace Kelly in "To Catch A Thief"; a dichotomous gown with a modest Mandarin collar and bodice falling into an up-to-there slit bottom; some strapless, some backless, some feathered and some frilled.

Labrecque expects a busy season of styling hair for luncheons, dinners, weddings and galas.
