From roots to tips: Honey Hair Co. opens in Danville, offering trendy hair solutions

A new hair salon is bringing all the trendy vibes to Danville. Honey Hair Co. opened up shop yesterday — and it's not your average hair salon.

Located on Jefferson Street in Downtown Danville, they specialize in hair extensions, hair coloring with all the latest hair dying and cutting techniques.

Owner Addison Vaught, a Roanoke native, said she decided to open up shop after friends in the area told her they drove hours away just to get their hair done.

"A lot of people said that y'all didn't have a space like this and that also made me really excited to just be the first one here, and maybe inspire other businesses to come here too," Vaught said.

Vaught credits the area's growth and openness to small business owners like herself as the reason she was able to open up shop in just over a year.

"This area is very receptive," Vaught said. "I participated in Dream Launch and I got a grant from Dream Launch for this which was super helpful, I wouldn't have been able to do it without them. I love the way Danville supports small businesses."

She emphasized that she wants to make your time at Honey Hair Co. an experience you'll never forget. That's why she made sure to install flattering lighting, a lounge area and a full-service soda and coffee bar free with any appointment.

Vaught is a one-woman show right now but is looking to hire three more hairdressers.

Prices for full custom color start at $150, and extension prices start at $100 per row for installation but differs by method, length, and quantity.

"I did a lot of market research on the hair salons in the area and what they were charging, and my prices are slightly higher than market I believe, but I do bring a lot of advanced techniques and experience," Vaught added.
