Fall Pedicure Trends You Don’t Want to Miss

Oct 31, 2024Oct 31, 2024

Fall is the time to embrace classic beauty looks. Layered bobs, soft glam makeup and seasonal nail colors—the looks run the gamut of classic autumn beauty trends. By now, you probably have your manicure looks nailed down (no pun intended) but may still be searching for a chic shade for your toes. Luckily, the season’s top fall pedicure trends offer something for everyone.

Of course, there are the classics, like deep burgundy, earthy browns and rich plums. “These shades are ideal for a fall-ready look and lean into the cozy elements of the season—think knit sweaters and leather boots,” says Jin Soon Choi, editorial manicurist and founder of JINsoon Spas and JINsoon Nail Lacquer. But a few unexpected trends, like chrome and metallic finishes, are taking off. Ahead, we tapped four experts about the top fall pedicure looks to try this season. Keep reading to find your new favorite.

Brown polishes are having a moment right now. While chocolate browns and earth tones are predictable for manicures, Choi says rich espresso will be the color to bookmark for your pedicure. Toff ($18) from JINsoon is a creamy polish that embraces the season’s cozy vibes. Plus, it has a refined look.

Gerstein notes that wine-colored polishes, such as bordeaux, merlot and burgundy, are perfect for fall pedicures. As one of the season’s top runway colors, she explains that the color instantly gives your pedicure a vampy and moody feel. To nail the look, try using two coats of Lights Lacquer’s Midnight Train ($11) and finishing with a long-wear topcoat that gives infinite shine.

Navy is a no-brainer for fall. But when it comes to your toes, Choi says that a cooler version, such as Dazzle Dry’s Flair ($22) shade, is preferred. “These rich shades mirror the depth and mystery of the season, elevating the warmth of fall outfits with a touch of sophistication.” This polish delivers a creamy color, but if you prefer something a bit deeper, give JINsoon’s Abyss ($18) shade a try.

Bright and bold pedicures are a staple year-round. For fall, Lin recommends a striking magenta that exudes confidence. “Dear Sunday’s Tara Stiles: Inspire shade ($18) is a vibrant hue [that] brings a sense of joy and stability as we shift from the carefree days of summer into fall.” Try pairing it with a red manicure for a fun twist.

Fall is the time to embrace the darkest nail shades, like Mineral Fusion’s Little Black Dress ($10). It’s the perfect color for a classy black pedicure and works for the season’s top manicure trends. “It’s a great base for creating a cool cat-eye manicure or adding marbleized effects to your nails,” says Gerstein.

To elevate your pedicure, Choi mentions that metallic shades like Londontown’s Kissed by Rose Gold ($16) are the way to go. She explains that the unique finish brings a modern edge while the rosy shade adds elegance and sophistication to your pedicure.

According to Park, the rise in chrome manicures and nail art has sparked a trend for chrome pedicures. The only problem? Creating a look that lasts. “Chrome nail art is notorious for chipping, but using the Aprés Heavenly Top Gelcoat in Divine ($15) instead of just chrome powder can ensure your pedicure stays chip-free,” she says. This icy silver color is the perfect shade for creating a mesmerizing look.

Looking for a statement? “Deep plum is bold, dramatic and undeniably powerful,” says Lin. Zoya’s Leighton is a deliciously dark hue that’s a great alternative to black if you prefer a moody shade with some depth. However, Sunday No.23 ($18) shade is the perfect choice for those looking for a creamy purple that’s cozy and daring.
